Istanbul

This is an amazing city!
Nearly the population of Australia, stradling Europe and Asia, and with Christian,  Islamic, Roman,  Greek and many other influences and ruins and temples.
The pictures tell some of the story. We have seen many mosques, caught a ferry along the Bosphorus which splits Europe and Asia,  eaten lots of spicy food and done lots of walking (but not enough for what is to come).

Photos are of Clare inside the Blue Mosque and the outside of Ayasofya.

Ayasofya is now a  museum which started as a Christian church then was converted to a Mosque. Inside they have uncovered Christian images under the plaster and under Islamic art.
