No I am not talking about a surfer, but the Romans. Today we walked from Patara to The walk skirted the huge tomato greenhouse area that was Patara Harbour in ancient times.We had two false starts which meant we walked for an extra couple of hours. The highlight was the Roman pipeline whch ran for about half the walk and at one point used an aquaduct across a 200 metre section of hillside. These were made from stone with a terracotter inner lining. The Romans could seal these so well that they could siphon water and allow for uphill sections of warer flow.
